Student and Employee Legal Name
In almost all circumstances, systems at The University of Texas at Austin should make use of existing name fields which will include an individual’s chosen / preferred name.
If you have a compelling business reason to access an individual’s legal name, you may request access.
The IAM Team provides two options for access to the legal name:
- A Mainframe secure module.
- A TED Service Account (using LDAPv3LDAP Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) is a set of protocols for accessing information directories based on the standards contained within the X.500 standard, but is significantly simpler.)
