Release Notes – SailPoint IIQ – Version 2018.2.0

The SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQIIQ SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ) is a group- and role-based authorization management service. See Identity Lifecycle Management for more information.) 2018.2.0 release will improve on the previously implemented functionality for our early adopters and establish a process that will allow role owners to manage their own roles. We have also incorporated some key technical improvements to all our environments along with updating our automated operational procedures.

Some of the highlights of the 2018.2.0 release include:

  • Refined assignment logic and deprovisioning criteria for a customer
  • Modified customer reports to implement requested changes
  • Updated wording in an access request form
  • Imported ownership details of TEDTED The uTexas Enterprise Directory (TED) is the University’s enterprise directory. See uTexas Enterprise Directory (TED) in the service catalog for more information. legacy groups
  • Implemented distributed role management functionality

Release Notes – SailPoint IIQ – Version 2018.1.1

The SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQIIQ SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ) is a group- and role-based authorization management service. See Identity Lifecycle Management for more information.) application is live at the University of Texas at Austin as of October 11, 2017! All technical environments are functioning and verified. The foundational functions for Group & Role Management are in place. The early adopter applications are on-boarded with their planned features including roles, access requests, provisioning, and reporting.

A big thank you to all of our early adopters in the Moody College of Communication, Intercollegiate Athletics, ITSITS Information Technology Services (ITS) Systems, ITS Networking, and ITS Applications. We could not have done it without your support.

For more information on the IAMIAM Identity and Access Management (IAM) is a set of policies, processes, and technologies designed to ensure that the right individuals (identities) have the right access to resources within an organization. IAM involves managing and securing digital identities, controlling access to systems and data, and maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information. SailPoint IIQ can provide enhanced security, compliance, efficiency, and functionality for your application and support team. Examples of features SailPoint IIQ can provide are:

  • Automated provisioning of access for applications. For instance, if access for an application is managed via an Active Directory group or a TEDTED The uTexas Enterprise Directory (TED) is the University’s enterprise directory. See uTexas Enterprise Directory (TED) in the service catalog for more information. group, IIQ can automatically add users to that group based on pre-defined assignment criteria and remove users when they no longer meet that criteria.
  • Access requests and approval for applications. If access to an application needs approvals prior to being granted, SailPoint IIQ can provide self-service access requests that are automatically routed to defined approvers.
  • Reporting on identity information, such as affiliations to the University, for application users and reporting when users no longer have current affiliations.
