EID Admin protected by Duo 7/12/2016
On 7/12/2016, the EID Administrative application will be protected by Duo two-factor authenticationAuthentication Authentication is the act of determining that a person is who they claim to be. For more information, see our Concepts page.. When an administrative user or help-desk user attempts to log-in to the EIDUT EID The University of Texas Electronic Identity (UT EID or EID) is the public records identifier for principals at the university. See our Concepts page for more information. Administrative application, that user will be prompted to provide two-factor authentication through Duo. If users do not provide two-factor authentication through Duo, they will not be granted access to the EID Administrative application. This process will be similar to UT’s VPN service.
Currently, the Toopher two-factor authentication service protects some portions of the EID Administrative application. As part of the University’s transition from Toopher to Duo, Toopher will be removed from the EID Administrative application as of 7/12/2016 and the entire EID Administrative application will be protected by Duo two-factor authentication.
To prepare for the change on 7/12/2016, visit these instructions to enroll a two-factor device with Duo if you have not done so already.
Do NOT delete your Toopher two-factor authentication account! You will still need your Toopher account to access other university services, such as accessing your W-2 forms and updating payroll information. These services are scheduled to be transitioned to Duo in the near future.
